LEXGEN AI B.V. respects the privacy of its website and web application (“LEXGEN”) users, in particular their rights regarding the automatic processing of personal data. We have therefore formulated and implemented a policy on complete transparency with our customers regarding the processing of personal data, its purpose(s), and the possibilities to exercise your legal rights in the best possible way.

Article 1 – Definitions

- Web Application (hereinafter: “WebApp” or “www.research.lexgen.ai”):
The online application or platform operated by LEXGEN AI B.V. that users can log in to, either via subscription or other credentials, to access specific services or functionalities. - Party responsible for processing personal data (hereinafter: “the controller”):

Any entity or person who enters into an agreement with LEXGEN AI B.V. to use or provide access to the WebApp and/or related services, under which one or more Users may be granted access. - Users:
Individuals authorized to use or access the WebApp and/or other services provided by LEXGEN AI B.V.
Article 2 – Access to the Website and WebApp
- Access to and use of the Website and the WebApp are strictly personal (unless otherwise agreed in a subscription agreement). You will refrain from using the data and information of the Website or WebApp for your own commercial, political, or advertising purposes, as well as for any commercial offers, in particular unsolicited electronic offers.
- If you create an account or have one created for you (e.g., as a Subscription Holder or User), you must provide accurate and complete information. Certain personal data (name, email address, etc.) may be mandatory to enable us to deliver our services. Failure to provide this information may prevent you from using certain functionalities of the Website or WebApp.
Article 3 – Website and WebApp content
All brands, images, texts, comments, illustrations (animated) images, video images, sounds, and all technical applications that can be used to operate this Website and/or WebApp, and more generally all the components used on it/them, are protected by intellectual property laws. Any reproduction, repetition, use, or modification, by any means whatsoever, of all or just part of it, including technical applications, without the prior written permission of the controller, is strictly prohibited. The fact that the controller may not take immediate action against any infringement cannot be considered as a tacit consent, nor as a waiver of any right to prosecute the infringing party.
Article 4 – Management of the Website and WebApp
For the purpose of proper management of the Website and/or WebApp, the controller may at any time:
- suspend, interrupt, reduce, or decline access for a particular category of visitors or users;
- delete all information that may disrupt the functioning of the Website or WebApp, or conflicts with national or international laws, or is contrary to internet etiquette;
- make the Website or WebApp temporarily unavailable in order to perform updates or implement improvements.
Article 5 – Responsibilities
- The controller is not liable for any failure, disturbances, difficulties, or interruptions in the functioning of the Website or WebApp, causing the (temporary) inaccessibility of either or both, or any of their functionalities. You, yourself, are responsible for the way you seek connection to our Website or WebApp. You need to take all appropriate steps to protect your equipment and data against hazards such as virus attacks on the internet. Furthermore, you are responsible for which websites or applications you visit or use and what information you seek.
- The controller is not liable for any legal proceedings taken against you:
- because of the use of the Website or WebApp, or services accessible via the internet;
- for violating the terms of this privacy policy.
- The controller is not liable for any damages that incur to you, third parties, or your equipment, as a result of your connection to or use of the Website or WebApp, and you will refrain from any subsequent (legal) action against the controller.
- If the controller is involved in a dispute because of your (ab)use of the Website or WebApp, it is entitled to (re)claim all subsequent damages from you.
Article 6 – Collection of data
- General collection
Your personal data will be collected by LEXGEN AI B.V. and/or its external processor(s). “Personal data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (“data subject”). An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier (e.g., a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier). - Subscription Holder data
If you enter into a subscription with LEXGEN AI B.V. for the WebApp (or related services), we may collect the following data from you:- Name and surname [as needed]
- Company name, VAT number, Chamber of Commerce number
- Business address or invoicing address
- Email address
- Payment details (e.g., account number, billing info)
- Any other relevant data needed to provide services and fulfill contractual obligations.
- User data
When you create an account or are invited to create an account as a User of the WebApp, we may additionally collect:- First and last name
- Email address
- location data, if relevant
- Business or organizational affiliation (if relevant)
The purpose is to provide you with access to our WebApp, to communicate regarding updates, and to ensure compliance with our terms of use.
- Device and usage data
We may collect information about the device you use to access our Website and/or WebApp (e.g., IP address, operating system, browser type, usage logs) to improve our services, enhance user experience, detect fraudulent or malicious usage, and for analytical and security purposes.- We may also collect approximate geolocation data: if relevant, with your consent or as permitted by applicable law.
- The personal data collected via the Website or WebApp are used mainly by the controller in order to maintain a (commercial) relationship with you and, if applicable, in order to process your subscription or user account. They are recorded in an (electronic) register.
Article 7 – Your rights regarding information
- Pursuant to Article 13 paragraph 2 sub b of the GDPR, each data subject has the right to information on and access to, rectification, erasure, and restriction of the processing of their personal data, as well as the right to object to the processing and the right to data portability.
- You can exercise these rights by contacting us at info@lexgen.nl.
- To verify your identity, we may request a copy of a valid ID, on which you put your signature and state the address where we can contact you (feel free to mask your photo and BSN number).
- Within one month of your request, you will receive an answer from us. Depending on the complexity and number of the requests, this period may be extended to two months.
Article 8 – Legal obligations
- In case of infringement of any law or regulation, of which a visitor or user is suspected and for which the authorities require the personal data collected by the controller, they will be provided to them after an explicit and reasoned request of those authorities, after which these personal data no longer fall under the protection of the provisions of this Privacy Policy.
- If any information is necessary in order to obtain access to certain features of the Website or WebApp, the controller will indicate the mandatory nature of this information at the time of requesting it.
Article 9 – Collected data and commercial offers
- You may receive commercial offers from the controller. If you do not wish to receive them (anymore), please send us an email to the following address: info@lexgen.nl.
- Your personal data will not be used by our partners for commercial purposes unless we have obtained your explicit consent.
- If you encounter any personal data of other data subjects while visiting our Website or using our WebApp, you are to refrain from collection, any unauthorized use, or any other act that constitutes an infringement of the privacy of the data subject(s) in question. The controller is not responsible in these circumstances.
Article 10 – Data retention
- The collected data are used and retained for the duration determined by law and/or as long as it is necessary to provide you with our services or comply with our legal obligations.
- If you delete your account or terminate your subscription, we will remove or anonymize your personal data unless we are legally required to keep it longer for compliance or contractual reasons.
Article 11 – Cookies
A cookie is a small text file placed on the hard drive of your electronic device upon visiting our Website or WebApp. A cookie contains data so you can be recognized as a visitor or user. It enables us to tailor our services to your needs and it facilitates certain functionalities (e.g., to remain logged in).

When you visit our Website or WebApp, we inform you about the use of cookies. By continuing to use our Website or WebApp you accept this use, unless we ask permission by other means. Your consent is valid for a period of thirteen months. - Types of cookies

Article 12 – Imagery and products/services offered
You cannot derive any rights from the imagery that accompanies any offered product or service on our Website or WebApp.
Article 13 – Applicable Law
These conditions are governed by Dutch law. The court in the district where the controller has its place of business has sole jurisdiction if any dispute regarding these conditions may arise, unless a legal exception applies.

Article 15 – Third-Party Services and AI Usage
- AI services
In order to provide certain functionalities, we may rely on external AI providers such as Microsoft to provide services as detailed out in our SAAS-agreement. Such provider(s) may process data you provide during your use of AI-driven features in the WebApp. Data used for AI will be handled as per this Privacy Policy, the applicable SaaS-agreement and the provider’s terms, and not used to train the AI model unless stated otherwise. - Data storage and location
We store and process your data primarily within the European Economic Area (EEA). If we transfer data outside the EEA, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place. Our hosting and database services may be provided by Azure, subject to their privacy policies.
